The 2019/2020 Premier League season has finally ended, almost a year when the season started. The season will be known as the season where football was stopped for three months due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, to the credit of the league, the season was finally finished on the field rather than any technicality. Liverpool were crowned champions for the first time in thirty years while Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea will play in the Champions League next season. Leicester City and Tottenham will play Europa League football next season while Norwich City, Bournemouth and Watford were relegated from the Premier League and will play in the EFL Championship next season. Premier League Action The Premier League is slowly reaching its conclusion with the race for Champions League football and the battle for relegation survival heating up. Norwich City were officially relegated from the Premier League after a 4-0 defeat to West Ham United. The Canaries have found the jump from the Championship difficult losing 24 of their 35 games played, conceding 67 goals. Watford beat Newcastle 2-1, boosting their survival chances. Liverpool dropped points at home for the first time this season after a 1-1 draw against Burnley with Jay Rodriguez scoring the equalizer. Raheem Sterling scored a hat-trick as Manchester City hammered Brighton. Sheffield United threw a spanner at Chelsea's Champions Leagues hopes, defeating the Blues 3-0 at Bramall Lane. Wolves defeated Everton 3-0 to keep their slim chances of finishing 4th alive while Trézéguet scored a brace to give Aston Villa an important 2-0 win against Crystal Palace to, keeping their survival hopes alive. ...

Following the long pause and tough negotiation from the clubs, the football authorities and the British government, England's top-flight is set to return for the final nine games of the season. The Premier League will make it's return on the 9th of August and we continue the preview of the upcoming season with the next seven teams based on their potential final position come May next year. Burnley. Final Position: 13th No one expected Burnley to replicate what they did in 2017/18 when they finished 7th and qualified for Europe for the first time in 50 years. Despite getting eliminated very early, they were poor last season and were in the relegation dogfight last season but managed to stay up, finishing 15th.  They have brought in Jay Rodgríuez and Erik Pieters and have let go of Tom Heaton and Stephen Ward. One-third of the Premier League season is already done so far with more twist and turns to come. With what we have seen so far this season, here are the winners and losers of the Premier League. So far. Winners: Manchester City It wouldn't surprise many if Manchester City go on to win the title as they are the team to beat this season. However, some believed that they would drop off this season like we've seen from past defending champions. The defending champions are top of the Premier League with 32 points having improved so much this season thanks to their improved defence with the centre-back pairing of Aymeric Laporte and John Stones,  and the form of Bernardo Silva, who has stepped up in Kevin De Bruyne's absence with injury. As the final week of matches before the international break, teams will be looking to assess their season thus far having played seven games with more to come. Gameweek 8 in the Premier League saw Brighton beat West Ham on Friday with six games played on Saturday. Wolves made it four wins in five games beating Crystal Palace 1-0 while Huddersfield and Cardiff City remain winless with Huddersfield earning a 1-1 draw against Burnley while Cardiff lost to Spurs 1-0. With European football taken place during mid-week, league action in the Premier League resumed with Matchday 6. Fulham played Watford to a 1-all draw at Craven Cottage at the 12:30 kick-off. Six games where played at the 3pm kick-off time which included Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City. Gameweek 2 of the Premier League kicked out with Cardiff City against Newcastle United at the Cardiff City Stadium. The game ended goalless with Newcastle going down to ten men with Isaac Hayden receiving his marching orders. Four games were played from 3pm with Tottenham Hotspur maintaining their 100 percent record in the league winning against Fulham 3-1.
