5 Things From the Premier League Yesterday

This was the last matchday week before the international break starts in the Premier League. Liverpool and Chelsea were looking to maintain their 100 percent record as the Reds faced Leicester City while Chelsea faced Bournemouth. West Ham faced Wolves with both sides looking for their first win of the season while Manchester City looking bounce back against Newcastle at the Etihad. Southampton faced Crystal Palace, Brighton faced Fulham at the Amex while Everton coutinue their fine start against Huddersfield at Goodison Park. Here are the five learned from yesterday's games.

Liverpool make it 4 over 4 despite Alisson error

Liverpool go into the international break with a perfect record beating Leicester City 2-1 courtesy of goals from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, who got his first goal of the season. Liverpool, again were not all guns blazing as they usually are which has been a theme for their start of the season but have been precise in their chances which is exciting of what's more to come from Jurgen Klopp's team. The biggest highlight of the game was Leicester's goal which came from an error from Liverpool's Alisson which fortunately didn't cost Liverpool points at the end of the game. With games against Spurs, Man City and Chelsea plus the Champions League, the Reds have done enough but need to do more if they are considered title contenders.

Sarri joins exclusive club

When Maurizio Sarri was appointed, it's fair to say that the Italian was going to have a lot on his hands to implement his style of play on the Chelsea players. Now, it seems to be easier than expected. Chelsea continue their great start with a 2-0 win against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge. Pedro and Eden Hazard scored the goals to break the Cherries who gave the Blues a lot of difficulty. Sarri is now the sixth manager to win his first four Premier League games which include Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Guus Hiddink, Craig Shakespeare and Pep Guardiola. With the Europa League starting after the international break, Sarri will be tested if how can keep this up but a perfect start is not too shabby.

Four goal thriller at the Amex

Brighton had to come from two goals down to get a credible point as the played Fulham to a 2-2 draw at the Amex Stadium. Things didn't start well for the Seagulls when Pascal Gross missed his penalty before Andre Schurrle scored to put the Cottagers in front. Aleksandar Mitrovic scored Fulham's second to take his tally to 16 goals since his move in January. The most of anyone in all the 4 football divisions this calendar year. However, Glenn Murray scored twice in the second half to save a point giving 4 points from the four games so far for both sides.

West Ham's fortunes bring nothing

West Ham are having a torrid start to the season losing 1-0 at home to Wolves from a very late goal from Adama Traore. The Hammers were given a real blow for a reality check with the ambitions they have this season as they have recorded four straight defeat with a measly two goals scored and ten goals conceded. The signings haven't really made a big change to West Ham which they hope would change in the coming months. However, with their next three games being Everton, Chelsea and Manchester United after the international break, the football gods have not been kind to Manuel Pellegrini.

Kyle Walker gives City three points

A first goal in Manchester City colours from Kyle Walker gave Manchester City three points beating Newcastle United 2-1 to close to the gap to two points behind Liverpool and Chelsea. Leroy Sane was excluded from the matchday squad with Pep Guardiola unhappy with the winger's attitude. Raheem Sterling opened the scoring before Newcastle's right-back DeAndre Yedlin shockingly scoring the equalizer to level the score at half-time. That was Yedlin's first Premier League goal. City's right-back Kyle Walker got into the act as well scoring a stunner giving City the win. Bouncing back.
