Football Weekend Recap

Premier League Six teams kept clean sheets in the Premier League this weekend with just 18 goals scored from the nine games played. It was a momentous weekend for Everton Football Club as they made history, finally beating their city rivals Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield on Saturday. That was Everton's first win against Liverpool in ten years and also their first win at Anfield since 1999. It took them level on points with the defending champions with a game in hand while Liverpool has now lost four home games in a row, with a strong possibility of missing out on Champions League football next season. It was not a good weekend for Mourinho's Tottenham as they lost 2-1 on Sunday to West Ham United. Goals from Michail Antonio and Jesse Lingard gave the Hammers the win, taking them to the top four while Spurs' form has taken a big hit, with only one win in their last five. A penalty from Mason Mount gave Chelsea a point against Southampton on Saturday with Thomas Tuchel being very...

Premier League Action 16 goals were scored from this past weekend from eight games played with only two teams winning at home, Liverpool and Southampton. The biggest game of the weekend was between Chelsea and Manchester United on Saturday at Old Trafford. It was fair to say that nothing much happened in the game with both sides unwilling to take the initiative during the game. Edinson Cavani made his debut for Manchester United after moving from Paris Saint-Germain but it was a very dull game that people will be asking for those 90 minutes back. Leeds United continued to excite many, after inflicting Aston Villa's first defeat of the season, beating Dean Smith's side 3-0 at Villa Park on Friday. Patrick Bamford netted his first Premier League hat-trick as Villa were unable to live with Marcelo Bielsa's side. Now, everyone is going to put Bamford in their fantasy team. Just hope he's not another Teemu Pukki. Everton also lost for the first time this season, losing 2-0...

Premier League Action  Forty-one goals were scored in the matchday 4 of the Premier League, with another string of weird results. The biggest result was Aston Villa 's incredible 7-2 win against Liverpool on Sunday at Villa Park. Ollie Watkins bagged a first Premier League hat-trick with Jack Grealish, and John McGinn scoring as well. This is Liverpool's worst league defeat in over fifty years, as the Reds were second best in everything they did on Sunday. Another big result was Manchester United losing 6-1 at Old Trafford to Tottenham on Sunday. Son Heung-Min, and Harry Kane scored a brace each as Spurs got their biggest result against Manchester United in the Premier League era while Jose Mourinho got his first win against United since departing the club in December 2018. United played much of the game with ten players as Anthony Martial received a red card for a punch on Erik Lamela. Everton are they only team with a perfect record so far, as they beat Brighton 4-2 with Jame...

Giménez and Godín down The Old Lady Atlético centre-backs José Giménez and Diego Godín were the heroes for Atlético Madrid following a massive 2-0 win against Italian champions Juventus at the Wanda Metropolitano with more discussions about Video Assistant Referee (VAR). Both sides sides have reached the final of the Champions League in the past five years with Juve making a big coup to win the competition with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, who has also scored 22 goals against Atléti. Juventus had the first big chance when Leonardo Bonucci who had a free header from a set-piece but went over the crossbar.
