The 2018/19 UEFA Champions League season has finally begun with Group A, B, C and D kicking things off on Tuesday. Barcelona got their campaign off to a perfect start with an easy 4-0 win against PSV Eindhoven at the Camp Nou. Liverpool beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 in a thrilling encounter at Anfield continuing their perfect start to the season while Spurs fell short losing to Inter Milan 2-1 at the San Siro. Here are the 5 players to watch in the UCL this season. Naby Këita Naby Këita has started life well on Merseyside following his £52 million to Liverpool from RB Leipzig. The Guinean was one of the most sort after midfielders during his time in Germany being an important cog in Leipzig's midfield as they finished second in their first ever season in the Bundesliga. Last season, Këita scored 5 and made 7 assists in the Bundesliga and made 3.6 tackles and interceptions in last season 's UCL including 4.8 dribbles per game. Serie A makes its return this weekend as to see who will reign supreme in Italy. Serie A has seen a resurgence in recent years following financial instability, match-fixing scandals, fading superstars and failing to match the standards of other leagues in Europe like the Premier League, La Liga and the Bundesliga. Now, Italian clubs are becoming more competitive in the Champions League and the Europa League and breaking the traditional stereotype of being a defensive league as teams are now playing in a more expansive way.
