Football Weekend Recap

Image
Premier League Action 16 goals were scored from this past weekend from eight games played with only two teams winning at home, Liverpool and Southampton. The biggest game of the weekend was between Chelsea and Manchester United on Saturday at Old Trafford. It was fair to say that nothing much happened in the game with both sides unwilling to take the initiative during the game. Edinson Cavani made his debut for Manchester United after moving from Paris Saint-Germain but it was a very dull game that people will be asking for those 90 minutes back. Leeds United continued to excite many, after inflicting Aston Villa's first defeat of the season, beating Dean Smith's side 3-0 at Villa Park on Friday. Patrick Bamford netted his first Premier League hat-trick as Villa were unable to live with Marcelo Bielsa's side. Now, everyone is going to put Bamford in their fantasy team. Just hope he's not another Teemu Pukki. Everton also lost for the first time this season, losing 2-0

Premier League Recap The Premier League returned following the international break with eight games played from the weekend, with 27 goals scored and only two teams from matchday 5 kept a clean sheet. The biggest game from the Premier League was the Merseyside Derby between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park on Saturday. The game ended 2-2 with Mohamed Salah scoring his 100th goal for the Reds  while Dominic Calvert-Lewin continued his goal-scoring form for the Toffees. The game was marred with controversy, particularly from Liverpool's standpoint. Firstly, the third 'goal' which was scored by Jordan Henderson was ruled out for offside as Sadio Mané was placed in an offside position. The other was Jordan Pickford's challenge on Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk. The Everton keeper lunged in on the Dutchman, resulting in an early substitution. As of now, van Dijk has been ruled out for a considerable point of time as he sustained an ACL injury, altering Liverpool&

Findings from the Transfer Window

Image
The summer transfer window was closed on the 5th of October, as signings across Europe ended. Despite the massive impact the coronavirus has had on the financial side of the game, clubs across Europe were still able to spend on new players with minimal fuss. So, he are my thoughts surrounding the summer transfer window that ended. The Premier League still has money to burn When the coronavirus pandemic started to spread around the world, it was going to have a big impact on football and its finances. Fans are not going to games to affect every team's income from matchday and, the change of schedule from last season meant that clubs will have to take to cut from broadcasters. However, the Premier League were still able to pull their financial might across, as all 20 Premier League clubs spent over a billion pounds on permanent signings. That is a drop from last year, which was at 1.4 billion pounds. This summer transfer window was one that many thought will have not a high amount
