The End of The Cycle for Tottenham

Image
Spurs so far this season have been quite disappointing if not very underwhelming. They sit in 9th position in the Premier League table after eight with over 11 points, four points away from the relegation zone and fifteen points away from leaders Liverpool. Though it is unlikely that they will finish mid-table at the end of the season, their form doesn't give any sign of encouragement and has been since the start of the calendar year. Mauricio Pochettino stated that if he would leave Spurs after potentially winning the Champions League after leading Spurs to the Final. They eventually lost the game 2-0 to Liverpool and while it was a remarkable achievement for Spurs to reach the Final, that was the highest ceiling Poch could take with that Spurs team, particularly after a poor end to the 2018/19 season were they narrowly made it into the top four. Wolves Leave City Stunned It may be early days in the season so far but Wolves have given City a big blow to the title aspirations this season, winning the game 2-0 at the Etihad on Sunday as City remain eight points behind Liverpool going into the international break after eight games. It was the biggest clash in Group B and things started well for Spurs when Son Heung-Min put the hosts in front twelve minutes in but after three minutes,  Joshua Kimmich scored a screamer from 25 yards to level. At the stroke of halftime, Robert Lewandowski scored to give Bayern the at the break. Bayern took control in the second half as Gnabry scored twice in two minutes making the score 4-1. Harry Kane scored from the penalty spot after Spurs were awarded a penalty, giving the hosts some hope. It proved nothing more than a consolidation goal as Bayern scored three more goals with Lewandowski scoring one and Gnabry getting two more goals. A pulsating performance from the Bavarians and Gnabry but now more problems and questions for Spurs after a real
