Match Preview: Tottenham Hotspur V Manchester United

The Premier League returns this weekend following FA Cup action last week and the biggest match-up is Spurs facing Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday which is an important fixture for both sides particularly for the managers.

Tottenham have put themselves in the conversation of this season's title race as they are currently third in the table, six points behind league leaders Liverpool. Spurs won five of their last sevn league games last month losing to Arsenal and Wolves.

They have also been scoring goals at will, netting 23 times with Korean forward Son Heung-Min scoring six times during that period. This will also be the last game Son will play for Spurs before leaving for the Asian Cup. Against the top 6 this season, Spurs have gotten only six points with two wins and three defeats and with how tight the title race is, games between teams in the top 6 now have more importance.

The game will carry a lot of attention surrounding Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine has been constantly linked to the Man United job following the sacking of José Mourinho carrying some uncertainty on whether he will stay on as Spurs manager.

Pochettino have won four of his last five league games against United and three of those games where at home. For Spurs, anything less than a win will be a big setback in putting pressure on Liverpool and Manchester City.

Manchester United have gone on smoothly after Mourinho's sacking in December. Ole Gunnar Solskjær was appointed as the intern manager and United have gone five wins out of five since the Norwegian came in. However, this will be Solskjær's biggest test at the United dugout as he will be facing tough opposition in Spurs.

United are sixth in the table, six points behind 4th place Chelsea as the race for the top 4 also heating up with United back in the discussion following their good run of form. Paul Pogba is a doubt for Sunday's game as he has been rejuvenated under Solskjær including Marcus Rashford whose likely to start up front, ahead of Romelu Lukaku. A win for United would show it's no fluke and for Solskjær to take the job on a permanent basis.
