League Action from the Weekend

Chelsea annihilated by City

City continued their dominating form of latte with a hammering 6-0 win against Chelsea on Sunday at the Etihad. City went in front in just four minutes from Sergio Agüero and it was just the beginning. Pep's side scored three more in just twenty minutes which sealed the win already but it wasn't the end of it. In the second half, they scored twice with Agüero scoring from the penalty spot while Raheem Sterling completed an emphatic win, sending a message to their title rivals as they stayed on top having played a game more than Liverpool while Chelsea drop to sixth place after their worst ever Premier League defeat in history as Sarri now have to face the question.

Liverpool return to winning ways

Liverpool managed to get back to winning ways and keep their title hopes alive after beating Bournemouth 3-0 at Anfield on Saturday. Following dropped points against Leicester City and West Ham, the Reds had to get their season back in track and got that when Sadio Mané opened the scoring, scoring in four consecutive Premier League games for the first time in his career. Georginio Wijnaldum scored his first league goal of the season with a fantastic lob over Asmir Begović to double Liverpool's lead. In the second half, Mohamed Salah netted his 17th league goal sealing the win and keep them level on points with City with a game in hand while Bournemouth woeful form continues.

Bale scores 100 against Atléti

Gareth Bale scored his 100th goal for Real Madrid to seal a 3-1 win against city rivals Atlético Madrid to go above them in the table as their season looks back on track. Los Blancos went in front from Casemiro in the 16th minute but Antonie Griezmann equalized nine minutes later. Special mention goes to Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior who looks like the real deal and was influential in getting Madrid's second as he was brought down José Gimenez awarding a penalty which Sergio Ramos converted to restore Madrid's lead at halftime. Gareth Bale came on for Vinicius and got the third goal slotting it past Oblak to give Madrid the win and compound Atléti's misery.

Dortmund lose three goals lead

There was a big twist in the title race in the Bundesliga as Borussia Dortmund dropped points from a winning position to draw the game 3-3 against Hoffenheim at the Westfalenstadion on Saturday. BVB scored first in the 32nd minute from Jadon Sancho and went 2-0 at halftime through Mario Götze. Raphaël Guerreiro scored third goal for Dortmund and with 15 minutes left, Hoffenheim looked dead and buried right? Nope. Ishak Belfodil scored to get Hoffenheim back in the game and then Pavel Kadeřábek scored in the 83rd minute. With three minutes remaining, Belfodil equalized to get themselves a credible draw and damaged Dortmund's chances of extending their lead at the top.

Player of the Weekend: Sergio Agüero

Agüero is the POTW in back-to-back games following his game against Chelsea. The Argentine scored another hat-trick which is his 11th in the Premier League, level with legend Alan Shearer. He also made 36 touches, 6 shots, 89.5% pass accuracy, 2 aerial duels won, 2 dribbles and won 3 fouls. His legend continues to grow.
